The purpose of this study was to find whether EMTs had the certificate of EMT and how many, equipments they possess and use them in Emergency Medical Services in Kyunggi-Do. The data was collected from 118 emergency medical service teams in fire stations. The results of this study were as follows;
1. 81.6% of EMS teams were not certified.
2. Approximately, 80% of EMS teams had emergency medical equipments, and 50% of them had one or more incubation sets and (advanced cardiac life support equipment)etc. Especially only, 9.3%. of them had the defibrillator.
3. Approximately 90% of EMS teams had emergency transportation equipments, and they were utilized frequently.
4. Approximately 20% of EMS teams had emergency medications, and they had a low utility.
5. Approximately 90% of EMS teams had examination equipments, except blood sugar test.
In result, this study revealed that EMS teams had sufficiently ambulances and emergency medical equipments, but 81.5% of EMS teams were not certified. They wanted continuous educations and professional EMTs.
